Video: A Call to Love One Another

On June 2, 2025 the NH Council of Churches hosted a worship service entitled "A Call to Love Another" co-created by Bishop Rob Hirschfeld, Episcopal Diocese of NH; Reverend Gordon Rankin, Conference Minister, NH Conference, United Church of Christ; and Reverent Erica Baron, Congregational Life staff lead, New England region of the Unitarian Universalist Association. - It is a gift to be together in a sacred gathering—a space where love knows no bounds. Thank you toWesley United Methodist Church for hosting us as well as Lisa Murray our accompanist. Across faith traditions, we came together united by our commitment to justice, dignity, and compassion during this fire hose of trying times -- of deportations to gulags, the slashing of Medicaid and food stamp funding, and direct attacks on the rights of historically marginalized citizens to name a few ways in which our heads are spinning. Our hearts are breaking, aching, from what appears to be a collapse of moral leadership and a profound erosion of ethical responsibility on the part of elected officials at all levels of government. We lifted our voices and hearts to be reminded that love is not a fragile sentiment but a bold force for healing and justice. Let us draw strength from our shared faith, standing united in solidarity with all who face uncertainty and oppression. May this service inspire us to move from feelings of discouragement toward strategic action. Pray that we more faithfully embody love’s call to protect the vulnerable.
