This is the 2nd of a 3-part series on how this ideology is playing out in education & business. “Unmasking Christian Nationalism: Impacts on Business & Public Education” is the 2nd of a 3-part series on how this ideology is playing out in Education and Business. We will examine concrete examples of how this version of white supremacy is harming these pillars of American life.
Zandra Rice Hawkins will explore how Christian nationalist ideology is working to undermine public education, including efforts to reshape curricula, restrict inclusive teaching, and redirect public resources, and why these strategies are central to advancing a broader ideological agenda.
James McKim will examine how Christian nationalist ideology is impacting business, including its influence on workplace policies, corporate decision-making, and broader economic practices, with particular attention to how these shifts affect equity, inclusion, and the integrity of diverse marketplaces.
Attendees will be provided with practical tools and the names of organizations already engaging in resisting this version of white supremacy in NH.
Christian nationalism is an organized political ideology that seeks to reshape core institutions of American life by merging a narrow interpretation of Christianity with political power. Its impacts are already visible in public policy, governance, and the ways multiple aspects of our lives are defined, regulated, and valued.
The NH Council of Churches is grateful that the NH Charitable Foundation supports NHCC's Countering Christian Nationalism project
